Due to the pressure regulator design, the Polaris is not recommended for use with any type of propane bottles other than standard threaded camping gas canisters. Use with adapters will result in poor performance. Snow, high wind, and elevation can render ordinary canister stoves nearly useless, but the Polaris pressure-regulator design makes it possible to have outstanding performance in extreme weather conditions.

Weighing only 2.7 oz, the Polaris is a backpack essential even on the most ultralight of trips.
